Motorists advised of lane restrictions, road blocks near the Benton Interchange Wednesday and Thursday

roadBENTON – A sub-contractor plans utility work along the Purchase Parkway just south of the KY 348 Benton-Symsonia Exit 43 Interchange in Marshall County starting today, Wednesday, May 13.

T&D Solutions will restrict both northbound and southbound traffic to one lane between the KY 348 Benton-Symsonia Exit 43 Interchange and the US 641 Spur Exit 41 Interchange near Benton starting Wednesday afternoon. All traffic will be moved to the right-hand or driving lane in this work zone to allow preparations for replacing an electrical cable that crosses the roadway in this area.

On Thursday, May 14th at 10 a.m., CDT, Kentucky State Police will assist the contractor by conducting a rolling road block along the Parkway to allow a new electric transmission cable to be run above the roadway.

The following day, on Friday, May 15th, at 10 a.m., CDT, Kentucky State Police will conduct another rolling road block along the Parkway to allow the contractor to remove the old electrical transmission cable.

Motorists traveling this section of the Purchase Parkway should be alert for slowing and stopped traffic as they approach the 42 mile marker on Thursday and Friday morning. Caution is required in this work zone.
