Dovota was born on February 16, 1965 in Mayfield, KY to the late Richard and Retha Jay Cunningham Lukat. She worked as a product and material handler for Matel. Dovota enjoyed fishing, tending to her floral gardens, solving puzzle books, and going to flea markets. She had a huge heart for animals, especially dogs and cats. She was a member of Dooms Chapel Church.
Dovota is survived by her husband of 34 years, Gary Thompson; her daughter, Haley Thompson of Benton; her sister in law, Teresa Riley of Benton; her brother in law, Harold Thompson of Benton; her niece, Atasha Langland; great nieces and nephews, Jacob Sharp, Giovanna Langland, and Remington Langland all of Nashville; and her two dogs, Princess and Pete.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Irvan Dale Lukat; and her parents.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2021 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Filbeck-Cann Funeral Home.
A funeral service will take place Thursday, September 23, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Filbeck-Cann Funeral Home with David Hendrickson officiating.
