Violet “Jackie” Greene, age 96 of Paducah passed away at 2:12 a.m. Friday, September 17, 2021 at Southgate Nursing & Rehab Center in Metropolis, IL. Violet was a long time member of Lone Oak United Methodist Church. She enjoyed friends and family, her singles group and dancing.
Survivors include two daughters, Ruth Ann Dunlap of Paducah and Lisa Gail Greene of Lexington, KY; one brother Alton “Slick; Herndon and wife, Peggy of Lone Oak; two grandchildren, Carl E. (Melody) Dunlap of Henderson, KY and Christian Cody Greene of McKenzie, TN; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding in death were husband, Clarence Noble Green Jr.; parents, Elmer Alton Herndon & Mary Gladys McIntosh Herndon; two sisters, Lorene Moore and Dorothy Stroud; two brothers, William Herbert Herndon and Charles Thomas Herndon; one great-grand daughter, Sandra Ruth Dunlap.
Private family graveside services will be held. There will be no visitation.
