Secretary of State announces election turnout statistics

Frankfort, KY (January 14, 2021) – Secretary of State and Chief Election Nerd Michael Adams announced the completion of voter turnout breakdowns by category for the 2020 primary election and general election.

Adams said, “Following our work to expand voter access, in 2020 we saw the highest number of voters ever in a Kentucky election – more than 2 million. Now, you can see the numbers for yourself, broken out by age, gender, party, county and precinct.”

In Marshall County, 17,636 citizens case their vote out of 25,058 registered. By party – 9,345 Democrats and 7,419 Republicans – for a 70.4 percent turnout. Out of the Commonwealth’s 120 counties, Marshall County was one of seven with a turnout of over 70 percent.
