Lemuel Blanton, 61

Mr. Lemuel T. Blanton, age 61, of Murray, Kentucky, completed his earthy assignment on Monday, July 27, 2020 at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital.

Mr. Blanton was born in Murray, Kentucky on September 20, 1958, to the late Luke and Virginia (Stubblefield) Blanton. Mr. Lemuel T. Blanton was a member of the St. John Missionary Baptist Church for many years, and was a 1977 graduate of Murray High School. During high school, he was a member of the track team and later was a part of the school’s Hall of Fame. He worked as a car detailer. He enjoyed being around his family and friends. He knew how to make everyone laugh with his many jokes. His personality and smile will never be forgotten and one that will be truly missed.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Blanton was preceded in death by three sisters, Gladys Partee, Ruthie Patrick, and Virginia Milliken; as well as four brothers, L.V. Blanton, Junior Blanton, Charles Blanton, and Johnny Blanton, Sr.

Mr. Blanton leaves to cherish his memories three daughters, Marquette Foster Vaughn (Chris) of Austin, TX, Kaycee Carman of Mayfield, KY, and Kalisha Belcher; one son, Marcellus Foster both of Murray, KY. He also leaves behind his loving siblings, three sisters, Jorine Kinley (James) of Murray, KY, Jenny Sue Belvet of Fayetteville, NC and Mammie Foster of Murray, KY, one brother, Eugene Blanton(Vernita) of Murray, KY, seven grandchildren two great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, who he spent countless hours with as well as cousins and many dear friends.

A memorial service will be at 1:00pm Saturday, August 1, 2020 at the Blalock-Coleman & York Funeral Home with Pastor Ronald Kendrick officiating.
