Ernestyne Young, 89, of Mayfield, KY passed away on July 27, 2020 at Mayfield Health and Rehabilitation.
Ernestyne was born in Mart, TX, on April 2, 1931 to the late Ernest Culverhouse and Alyne Ashcraft Culverhouse. On December 16, 1950, in Elm Mott, TX, Ernestyne married the love of her life, James Young. She and James set out on their journey together as a couple and they eventually went on to have four sons together. She was a homemaker, and also enjoyed cooking and traveling. She was of the Baptist faith. More than anything else, Ernestyne was a loving wife and mother who loved to take care of all “her boys”.
She is survived by her husband, of 69 years, James E. Young; four sons, James E. Young, Jr. and wife Susan of Mayfield, KY, Brandon Keith Young of Mayfield, KY, Michael Cullen Young of Mayfield, KY, and William Kevin Young of Mayfield, KY; three sisters, Linda Boudreaux and husband Phillip of San Antonio, TX, Martha Cagle and husband Robert of Elm Mott, TX, and Carolyn Hill of Elm Mott, TX; two brothers, E.T. Culverhouse and wife Shirley of Lacy Lakeview, TX, and Gary Culverhouse and wife Beth Ann of West, TX; eight grandchildren, Nicole Green, Dustin Young, Dana Young, Jonathan Young, Alan Young, Amber Downing, Melissa Tynes, and Rachel Adkison; thirteen great-grandchildren, Landen James Green, Abbigaile Green, Emma Cate Young, Corbin Young, Samantha Downing, Roland Downing, Zoie Tynes, Lucas Tynes, Elsa Young, Gloria Young, Sophia Adkison, Kyle McDaniel, and Keri Woodcox; one uncle, Grover Culverhouse and wife Sandy; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Patsy Smith; and her parents.
Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 31, 2020 at New Home Baptist Church Cemetery with Bro. C.W. Jackson officiating.
