Jennifer Brown with the Marshall County Health Department joined Chris Freeland recently on WCBL’s Coffee Call program. Brown says that so far Marshall County has been spared from a widespread outbreak of the COVID-19 virus. As of Monday, April 27, Marshall County had 31 positive cases, with 11 fully recovered and 20 active cases. She said those who are positive are not released until they are fully recovered, typically around 14 days. And she says to wear a mask when you go out to pick up food or necessities. It helps to protect you somewhat, but mostly it helps to protect others from you in case you are contagious and you don’t even know it. The best policy is to assume anyone you come in contact with has the virus, keep your distance and wash hands and use hand sanitizer. For more information contact the health department or visit kycovid19.ky.gov.
