A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans paving along The Woodlands Trace National Scenic Byway in Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area (LBL) starting Monday, July 6, 2015.
Paving along The Trace in LBL will run from the Kentucky-Tennessee state line extending northward to about the 7 mile marker.
Paving along this 7-mile section is expected to take about 4 days to complete, weather permitting.
The paving crew will then move to FH 160 in LBL. This is the connector between Wranglers Camp Road and US 68/KY 80. Paving along this 1.3 mile section is expected to take less than 2 days, weather permitting.
Motorists should be alert for one lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers. Motorists should use appropriate caution where equipment, flaggers, and maintenance personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.
Rogers Group, LLC, is the prime contractor on this $679,700 highway improvement project. The project is funded via FLAP-The Eastern Federal Land Access Program with paving supervised by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet on behalf of the US Forest Service.
Weather permitting, the work should be completed around July 10th.
