Ernestene Boaz Sellars, age 89, Reidland, KY passed away Sunday, May 19, 2019 at her home. Ernestene has been a member of Reidland Baptist Church since 1971 and loved her friends and church family. She was a 1948 graduate of Lone Oak High School. Ernestene and late husband, Perryman were long time supporters of Reidland High School and took many photos of activities at Reidland High School, especially softball. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and was an avid University of Kentucky Basketball… fan.
Ernestene was born February 25, 1930 to Mary & Earl Boaz along with her twin sister Earline Boaz Mitchell. Overcoming the odds of being born prematurely and having a dresser drawer for a bed, she grew into a healthy fun loving woman. On September 3, 1951 she married Leon Perryman Sellars which led to their life of flying, many adventures and cheering for the Reidland Greyhound softball team.
Survivors include one daughter, Rita Sellars Crouch and husband, Keith of Cookville, TN; one sister, Linda Boggess and husband Randall of Paducah; four grandchildren, Matthew Duane Hampton, Boaz, Ky, Logan Issac Hampton and wife, Melody of Pensacola, FL, Rachel Lynn Crouch of Murfreesboro, TN and Hannah Lee Crouch of Crossville, TN; son-in-law, Max Hampton, Boaz, Ky; sister-in-law, Denise Boaz of Murray; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding in death were parents, William Earl Boaz & Mary Starr Boaz; one daughter Lisa Hampton; twin sister, Earlene Mitchell, one brother, Gene Boaz.
Services will be held Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Rob Ison officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Cemetery in Hickory, KY. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 22, 2019 from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home.
