Daytime Closure on KY 1954/Husbands Rd at KY 999/Krebs Station Rd Intersection on WED, JAN 9th

A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans a daytime closure along the KY 1954/Husbands Road work zone in McCracken County on Wednesday, January 9, 2019.

KY 1954/Husbands Road in McCracken County will be closed during daylight hours at the KY 999/Krebs Station Road intersection on Wednesday to allow a cross drain to be replaced.

The roadway at this site will close at approximately 8:00 a.m., CST, Wednesday. KY 1954/Husbands Road is expected to reopen at about 4:00 p.m., CST, Wednesday. This is along KY 1954/Husbands Road to the south of the Paducah Floodwall.

In addition to this planned daytime closure, this work zone continues to be active on a daily basis. Motorists should be alert for lane restrictions with alternating flow controlled by flaggers.

The contractor will attempt to provide timely notice of future temporary closures.

This planned daytime closure is part of an ongoing Highway Safety Improvement Project (HSIP) along KY 1954/Husbands Road running from KY 348/Hardmoney Road at milepoint 0.0 extending northward to milepoint 3.04, just north of the Clarkline Road intersection. It includes improving roadway alignment at the Clarkline Road intersection and the Paducah Floodwall crossing, as well as additional shoulder and cross drain improvements along the remainder of KY 1954/Husbands Road in the project area.

Jim Smith Contracting Company, LLC, is the prime contractor on this $1.68 million safety improvement project.
