Paving along US 60 in Western McCracken County starts TODAY to Be Followed by Paving along KY 998

A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has started milling and paving along a section of US 60/Hinkleville Road West of Paducah in McCracken County.

Milling and paving along US 60 Hinkleville Road runs from milepoint 7.7 near the McCracken County High School Entrance extending eastward to milepoint 9.587 at the KY 998/Olivet Church Road intersection, a distance of about 1.8 miles.

Motorists should be alert for slowing and merging traffic as they approach this work zone. Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and paving personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.

Milling and paving along this section of US 60/Hinkleville Road is expected to take about 4 to 6 days to complete, weather permitting.

Once work is completed along this section of US 60 West of Paducah, the contractor will immediately move to a section of KY 998/Olivet Church Road from milepoint 0.0 at the US 62/Blandville Road intersection extending northward to milepoint 2.314 at the US 60/Hinkleville Road intersection. Once work starts along the KY 998/Olivet Chruch Road portion of this paving project, motorists should be alert for one lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers.

Jim Smith Contracting, LLC, of Grand Rivers is the prime contractor on this $983,157 highway improvement project. The target completion date is November 15, 2018.
