DRAFFENVILLE – Addie Young was a perfect 4 for 4 in appearances at the plate Monday in the Lady Marshals 12-1 win over Union County. Young hit a single, three doubles and drove in four runs, beginning with the single in the first inning that scored Lexee Miller for an early 1-0 lead. Union County tied the game in the second inning, getting the run on a wild pitch.
The Lady Marshals put together a 4-run third inning, scoring on an error, fielder’s choice and 2-run double by Young.
Their big seven run sixth inning put the game away, scoring the runs on a pop fly by Miller, double by Young, 2-run single by Gracey Murt and 3-run home run by McKenzie Elkins.

The Lady Marshals played #8 Christian County at home on Tuesday, giving the Lady Colonels a more competitive game than their previous meeting this season that ended in a 15-8 loss.
Tied 1-1 at the end of the first inning with scoring coming from a single by Christian County’s Tyler Shemwell and a sacrifice fly by Addie Young, the Lady Colonels put four more runs on the board in the top of the fourth that the Lady Marshals countered with two runs, scoring a run on an error and ground out by Payton Smothers to trail 5-3.
Christian County added two more runs in the sixth inning to go up 7-4 and the Lady Marshals would add one more run on an RBI single by Smothers.
Christian County moves to 18-3 and the Lady Marshals stay above .500 with a record of 12-11.
