(PADUCAH, Ky.) — Residents across the region should prepare for a wet Tuesday as widespread rain moves through the area, with conditions expected to gradually improve this evening.
According to the National Weather Service, rain will persist throughout much of the day before tapering off from west to east this evening. Thunderstorms are possible this afternoon, though forecasters say severe weather is not expected.
The primary concern will be heavy rainfall, which could lead to localized flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Residents are advised to avoid driving through flooded roadways and to monitor local conditions throughout the day.
Relief is on the horizon as drier weather returns for the remainder of the week. Along with the dry conditions, temperatures are expected to drop, bringing cooler air to the region.
Motorists should exercise caution on wet roadways during the morning and afternoon commutes and allow extra travel time.
