Fredbird, the St. Louis Cardinals’ mascot, has been inducted into the Mascot Hall of Fame as part of the 2025 class.  This induction makes Fredbird the ninth Major League Baseball mascot to join the hall. The Mascot Hall of Fame recognizes and honors outstanding mascots in professional and collegiate sports.

    • Selection Process:

      Fredbird was chosen from a pool of 28 nominees after a two-week online fan vote that garnered over 125,000 votes. 

  • Hall of Fame History:

    The Mascot Hall of Fame was founded in 2005 by David Raymond, the original Phillie Phanatic. It’s located in Whiting, Indiana and serves as a place to honor the best mascot characters and programs. 

  • Fredbird’s Accomplishments:

    Fredbird has been the Cardinals’ mascot since 1979 and has appeared at over 3,600 regular season games. He was part of the Cardinals’ World Series-winning teams in 1982, 2006, and 2011. 

  • Other Inductees:

    The 2025 class also includes Blitz (Seattle Seahawks), Sebastian the Ibis (Miami Hurricanes), SJ Sharkie (San Jose Sharks), and Toro (Houston Texans).
