He was a member of Beulah Baptist Church in Beulah, KY and a retired member of Carpenters Local Union # 357 in Paducah, KY.
Mr. McManus is survived by two sons, James Clay (Julie) McManus of Kodak, TN and Vance McManus of Paducah, KY; two daughters, Angela McManus of Danville, KY and Kimberly (Dean) McManus of Lansing, MI; two brothers, Ronnie (Bonita) McManus and Larry McManus both of Mayfield, KY; one sister, Lisa (Steve) Garrett; and three grandchildren, Calan McManus, Koby McManus and Darlene McManus.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann Kennedy McManus; one sister-in-law, Diane McManus; and his parents, James H. and Christine Vaughan McManus.
Funeral services for Mr. James Merritt McManus will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY. Rev. Larry Fraser will officiate. Interment will follow at Trinity Cemetery.
His nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
