Lucy Bell Midyett, 96, of Benton, Kentucky,  passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Lucy was born to the late James and Vadis Peck Bell on December 22, 1928, in Marshall County, Kentucky. Lucy was a homemaker who loved to sew and especially loved putting those sewing skills into making beautiful quilts. She never wasted fabric remnants, as those could be incorporated into another quilting project in times to come. She was a homemaker, and caring for her family was the most important thing to her. Gardening and canning were among the many ways she cared for and nurtured her family. Her home-cooked meals were served daily, and of course, the fruits of her labor from the garden were staples at the dinner table. Lucy was a member of Broadway Church of Christ.

Lucy is survived by one daughter, Marsha Green (Richard) of Benton, Kentucky; one brother, Gary Midyett (Vonda) of Paducah, Kentucky; one sister, Dorothy Almond of Oak Ridge, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Ryan Midyett (Niki), Robyn Ince (Bill), Miranda Wood, and Michael Green; five great grandchildren, Morgan, Sydnie, Ethan, Mason, and Kohen; and one great great granddaughter, Ava.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James “Eddie” Midyett; two sisters, Mary McNeely and infant baby Bell; and two brothers, Cecil Bell and James “Jim” Bell.

Visitation will be 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Broadway Church of Christ in Paducah, Kentucky.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Broadway Church of Christ. Burial to follow at Mt. Kenton Cemetery.
