
Mr. Carl Rayburn Hipsher, age 81 of Benton, passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at Murray Calloway County Hospital.
Born April 6, 1943 in Franklin, Ohio, he was the son of the late Carmack Hipsher and the late Orpha Whisman Hipsher. He retired as a papermill supervisor at Appleton Paper Co. Carl was an avid fisherman and enjoyed collecting fishing gear. He always loved having his annual fish fry with friends and family. He loved being around his friends and family, especially while dancing. He was a collector of numerous albums of his favorite music, which he enjoyed playing on his jukeboxes.
He is survived by his wife, Harriet Clark; sons, Bryan Hipsher wife Angela, Roger Hipsher, and Troy Hipsher; step children, Chris Clark and Melissa Andrews; brother, Mike Hipsher wife Phyllis; sister, Marsha Hipsher Turnmire; grandchildren, Jacob Hipsher, Kevin Hipsher, Tyler Hipsher, Tanner Hipsher, Zach Hipsher, Ben Hipsher, Lincoln Hipsher, and Gabe Hipsher; step-grandchildren, Christopher Chase, Kristin Clark, and Kinsey Clark; great-grandchildren, Carter Hipsher, Ellie Jo Hipsher, Marleigh Hipsher, Colson Hipsher, and Felix Hipsher; as well as three step great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, John “Bud” Hipsher, Dale Hipsher, Jim Hipsher, Dwight Hipsher, and Ronnie Hipsher; sisters, Doris “Do” J. Hatfield and Emma Hipsher.
A memorial/celebration of life luncheon will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the St. Henry Church Event Hall located on Highway 68 in downtown Aurora, KY.
A memorial service will be held in Ohio for friends and family at a later date.
