
Barbara King Throgmorton, 86 of Paducah passed away peacefully on June 20, 2024, at her residence in Paducah. She was born on February 5, 1938, in Graves County, KY, to Rudy L. and Dorothy M. Swatzell King.
For 28 years, Barbara was a familiar face to many as she sold Home Interiors & Gifts with a warm smile and a keen eye for beauty. Her work was not just a job but a way to connect with people, turning customers into friends and houses into homes. Barbara was a member of Gospel Mission Worship Center, where she found great joy in fellowship and service. Barbara’s most cherished moments were those spent with her beloved children and grandchildren. She was the heart of family gatherings, her laughter and stories weaving a tapestry of memories that will be treasured forever.
She is survived by a daughter, Kathy Fox (Patrick Linhares) of Scottsdale, AZ; a son, Billy R. (Rebecca) Cornwell Jr. of Wingo, KY; her two sisters, Betty J. Rogers and Judy King Hill both of Paducah; her two grandchildren, Gordon Michael (Lauryn) Stokely and Nash (Cornwell) McMillen; her three great-grandchildren, Briley Ann Stokely, Clayton Royal Stokely and Oliver Black Stokely; a sister-in-law, Faye King of Symsonia along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 24 years, Herbert “Bert” S. Throgmorton, and a brother, James E. “Jim” King.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Monday, June 24, 2024, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home Lone Oak Chapel with Rev. Jim Wright officiating. Burial will follow at Fooks Cemetery in Marshall County, KY. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Monday, June 24, 2024, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home Lone Oak Chapel.
