
Rev. Dewey M. Dick, 80 of Benton, passed away on Saturday, April 27 at his home. Dewey pastored at churches in Kentucky and Indiana for more than 35 years. He served as an international missionary with his wife through the partnership of the Southern Baptist Convention in South America and Europe. He served in the Armed Forces of the United States from 1961-1968. Dewey was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather to his loving family.
Dewey was born on November 10, 1943, in Calloway County to the late Ellis Clayton Dick and Veopal (Boggess) Dick Glover.
Mr. Dick is survived by his devoted wife, Jerlyine McKendree Dick, of 63 years. Two sons, Marty Dick and Todd (Mary) Dick; six grandchildren, Nicole Dick, Meagen Dick, Kristina (Josh) Hinton, Cameron Dick, Courtney (Aaron) Beane and Kenzie Dick; nine great-grandchildren, Morgan, Cody, Chandler, Kade, Preston, Mason, Waylon and Kylie; one sister, Eva Gream and sister-in-law, Carolyn Dick.
Mr. Dick was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, James Dick, L.C. Dick, Elzie Dick, Willie Dick, Rob Dick; one sister, June Taylor.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 1, 2024 in the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home in Benton, KY. Ricky Cunningham and Glenn Cope will officiate. Burial will follow with full military honors at the Murray Memorial Gardens in Murray, KY.
Visitation will be held between the hours of 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at the Collier Funeral Home in Benton, KY.
