Mrs. Brenda Joyce Allen, age 80, of Murray, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, October 2, 2023, at her home.
Mrs. Allen was born on December 21, 1942, in Oscar, Kentucky, to the late William Odell Moore and Maude Toombs Moore. She was a member of the Poplar Springs Baptist Church and was a retired Restauranter. Brenda was the daughter of a WWII, Korea, and Vietnam Veteran. Her husband was a career Navy Veteran, her son, a career Air force Veteran, and she has two grandsons on active duty, one in the Air Force and one in the Army.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death her husband, Jerry Don Allen.
Survivors include one daughter, Gerri Dawn Prescott and husband Quentin of Henderson, Kentucky; son, Dr. Scott Randall Allen of Murray, Kentucky; sister, Patsy Wiggins of Bardwell, Kentucky; two brothers, Michael Moore and wife Betty of Oscar, Kentucky, and Barry Moore of Palm Springs, California; six grandchildren, 1Lt. Aaron Allen of Bellville, Illinois, PFC Alex Villanveva of Ft. Bragg, North Carolina, Emily Reeves of Lexington, Kentucky, Sarah Allen of Murray, Kentucky, Allen Reeves of Murray, Kentucky and Adam Prescott of Watkinsville, Georgia; five great grandchildren, Abigal and Marley Pierre both of Lexington, Kentucky, Ziggy and Zenith Villanueva both of Murray, Kentucky; Jude Villanueva of Lexington, Kentucky and Ellie Prescott of Watkinsville, Georgia.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 8, 2023, in the Chapel of the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services. A burial will follow in the Murray City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Saturday, October 7, 2023, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
