
Deborah “Debby” Sue Washam, 70 of Benton, Kentucky passed away on Monday, June 12, 2023, at her home.
She was born in Aniston, Missouri on February 5, 1953, to parents Bill and Sudie Whybark. She spent her childhood in southern Illinois and moved to Kentucky as a teenager. She married the love of her life Eddie Washam on July 16, 1971. She dedicated her life to caring for her family and her animals. She loved a good story, laughter, flowers, movies, and holidays. She traveled to see her granddaughter speak and compete as often as she could and had such joy in those moments. She loved her friends at Sydney’s Florist and enjoyed her adventures with “the girls.” She was of the Christian faith and loved her Savior. Her loyalty and love will truly live on in those who were close to her heart.
She is survived by her husband Eddie Washam, their two children Amy Washam Whisman (husband Johnny) of Hardin and Ben Washam of Louisville, and one granddaughter Elnora Rose Whisman. She is also survived by two beloved brothers Tony Whybark (wife Pam) and Billy Whybark (wife Linda) and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother Johnny Whybark and her parents Bill and Sudie Whybark.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 15, 2023, at the Bennie Starks Cemetery, Starks Cemetery Road, Benton, KY with Rev. Kristi Stuckel officiating.
No public visitation will be held.
