Jean Harris, age 84, of Paducah, passed away at 12:44 p.m. Monday, November 14, 2022 at Mercy Health Lourdes.

Jean was a member of the Lone Oak Church of Christ.  She was born in Detroit, Michigan and a native of Sedalia, Kentucky.  Jean exhibited a humble spirit and kind heart through service to others. She supported her husband in ministry for 65 years and was a true homemaker.  She was an excellent seamstress, cook, and hostess. She enjoyed visiting people in hospitals and nursing homes, working in the yard and watching Cardinals’ baseball.

 

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Larry Harris; three daughters,  Beth (David) Kelly of Durrant, OK, Janet Martin of Lubbock, TX and Amy (Tim) Perdue of Paducah, KY; one brother, Ted (Stephanie) Sims of Paducah, KY, one sister, Kay Richards of Atlanta, GA; brother-in-law, Gary Hopkins of Murray, KY; ten grandchildren, Amanda (David) Thornton, Mark (Kristi) Snyder, Adam (Jennifer) Snyder, Michelle (Adam) Harris, Jason (Lynn) Kelly, Laura (Jay) Cannon, Landon Perdue, Pierson Perdue, Allyn Perdue and Makenzie Neal;  twelve great-grandchildren, Abigail Thornton, Jade Snyder, Mya Snyder, Kaylee Snyder, Karter Snyder, Lincoln Harris, Jackson Harris, Pierce Harris, Mitchel Kelly, Jonathan Cannon, Justin Cannon and Addison Clark Neal; several nieces and nephews.

 

Preceding in death were her parents, Hollis Sims and Mary Holmes Sims, son-in-law, Stacey Martin, two sisters, Fay Hopkins and Rebecca Carol Sims; two grandsons, Oliver Jake Martin and Will Martin.

 

Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, November 19, 2022 at the Lone Oak Chapel Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Paul Wingfield and Jamie Boone officiating.  Burial will follow at Mt. Kenton Cemetery with John Dale officiating.  Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until service time of noon at the funeral home.
