Unattached athlete Kobey Yates, a freshman at Marshall County High School, competed in the Daviess County Classic cross country race this past Saturday at Yellowcreek Park in Owensboro.
Kobey ran an impressive personal best time of 16:08.2 for a 5k in route to a sixth place finish out of 300+ runners. That time ranks him #1 in Kentucky for freshmen runners.
He will race again on November 26th at the Eastbay South Regionals in Charlotte, NC, and again on December 3rd in Huntsville, AL at the Garmin RunningLane Cross Country Championships.
