Traffic Stop Nets Calvert City Man on Drug Charges

On August 11th, 2022, at approximately 3:30pm, A Deputy with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on Calvert Dr. near Benton Rd. The vehicle was a 2003 Nissan passenger car driven by 49-year-old Charles D. Baucum of Calvert City, KY.

During the investigation, it was discovered that Baucum was in possession of a quantity of Crystal Methamphetamine, a quantity of Cocaine, and several other items related to Drug Paraphernalia. Deputies also located a handgun near where the illegal drugs were located.

Baucum was arrested and transported to the McCracken County Regional Jail where he was lodged.

Arrested: Charles D. Baucum, 49 of Calvert City, KY.

  • No Brake Lights
  • No Registration Plate
  • Operating on Expired Operator’s License
  • Failure to Maintain Insurance
  • Failure to Register Transfer of Motor Vehicle
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Possession of Cont. Sub. 1st Degree (Cocaine) Firearm Enhanced
  • Possession of Cont. Sub. 1st Degree (Methamphetamine) Firearm Enhanced
