John Phillip Domke, 87, of Mayfield, passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2022.

 

Mr. Domke was a graduate of Michigan State University where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics. He retired as a Quality Control Manager from Ingersol-Rand. He served in the United States Army and was a Korean War veteran.  He attended His House and First Assembly of God in Mayfield.

Mr. Domke loved gardening and was passionate about his golf game. He was a “lover of life” and a devout Christian. He will be remembered by his family as always being nice, full of life and constantly on the move. He always greeted people with a happy “greetings” and strived to encourage others to be positive.

 

He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Carolyn Story Domke of Mayfield; one son, John Phillip Domke II (Deborah) of Eddyville; two step sons, William Mark Atkins of Mayfield, and Jack Bradford Atkins of Sparks, Nevada; one sister, Elaine Pettigo; and two brothers, Paul Domke (Angie) of Kalamazoo, Michigan and Robert Domke from Connecticut; and one grandchild, Reagan Day; and additional step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren, along with many close friends.

 

Mr. Domke was preceded in death by his parents, Harold (H.P.) and Catherine Domke and a daughter, Elizabeth Day.

 

A Celebration of Life service for Mr. Domke will be held on a later date.
