
(MARSHALL COUNTY, Ky.) — A 29-year-old man was taken into custody Monday after a young girl home alone called 911 to report an intruder, leading law enforcement to discover the suspect hiding in the basement of a Minter Road residence.
Marshall County Deputies and Benton City Officers responded to the 911 call on February 23, 2026, where they located Lozie D. Boddie III concealed in the basement. He was taken into custody quickly and without incident.
Boddie was charged with burglary in the second degree, a Class C felony, and was subsequently lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.
Sheriff Hilbrecht praised the female juvenile, who was home alone at the time, for her composure and fast action.
“We want to commend the juvenile for her quick thinking and bravery in immediately calling 911 after discovering the intruder,” said Sheriff Hilbrecht. “Her actions helped ensure everyone’s safety.”
The Sheriff also recognized the responding deputies and city officers for their swift response and professionalism, which he credited with bringing the situation to a rapid and safe resolution.
