(CALVERT CITY, Ky.) — A new entertainment destination is set to debut in western Kentucky next week, bringing Churchill Downs’ legacy of racing and gaming to the region.
Marshall Yards Racing & Gaming will officially open to the public on February 25, 2026, Assistant General Manager Dave McDade announced during an appearance on WCBL’s Coffee Call program.
The facility represents an expansion for Churchill Downs, the company behind the iconic Louisville racetrack that has operated for more than 150 years and hosts the annual Kentucky Derby.
The new venue will feature simulcast horse racing, allowing patrons to watch and wager on races from tracks across the country. Additional amenities include a sports bar equipped with a sportsbook for sports betting, as well as “Wet Your Whistle,” an on-site restaurant.
A grand opening celebration is planned for opening day, with speeches beginning at 10:30 a.m. and doors opening to the public at 11 a.m.
“From local faces to unforgettable moments, we can’t wait to celebrate with you,” McDade said in announcing the opening event.
The new venue will serve patrons in Marshall County and the surrounding western Kentucky area.
