(BENTON, Ky.) — A 40-year-old Benton resident died early Wednesday morning after being struck by a vehicle while crossing West 5th Street.
The Benton Police Department responded to the scene at approximately 5:14 a.m. following reports of a pedestrian collision. According to preliminary findings, Anthony Allen was crossing the street when he was struck by a vehicle driven by Lucas Forsythe, 26, also of Benton.
Emergency medical services transported Allen to Marshall County Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Multiple agencies assisted with the response and investigation, including the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, Marshall County EMS, Benton Fire Department, and the Marshall County Coroner’s Office.
The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
