(HARDIN, Ky) — The Hardin branch of the Marshall County Public Library is excited to announce the launch of the Family Destination Library (FDL) — a newly imagined space designed to support positive childhood experiences, strengthen families, and foster community connections.
Funded by a generous grant through New Allies, a consulting and technical assistance initiative of national nonprofit Youth Villages, the FDL aims to provide protective factors for families by offering an inviting, safe, and enriching environment where children can learn through play, creativity, and interaction with their caregivers and peers. Families are encouraged to spend extended time in the space, creating opportunities for connection, growth, and discovery.
To make way for the transformation, the Hardin branch will be closed the week of July 21 and will reopen on Thursday, July 25 at 1:00 p.m. Community members are invited to tour the new space and learn about the resources and programs that will be available.
“We are excited to be able to provide our community with a safe space for kids to learn and grow, and excited to see how our community partners will be able to use this space to make a positive impact in Marshall County,” said Library Director Tammy Blackwell.
The Family Destination Library is made possible through partnerships with a wide range of local organizations, who will help bring meaningful programs and resources to the space, enhancing its value to families across the region.
