Jane Quillen, age 83, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 27, 2025, at Baptist Health Paducah. Jane was born on March 1, 1942, in Arlington, Kentucky, to the late Ollie “Jack” and Christa Thomason.
Jane dedicated over 50 years to Hocker’s Grocery, where her unwavering work ethic and friendly nature in the meat department were appreciated by both colleagues and customers. A faithful member of Arlington First Baptist, she radiated her love for children and teaching through her roles as a Sunday School teacher and Bible school instructor. Her involvement with the Carlisle County Homemakers and the Jolly Senior Group at her church reflected her love for life and people. Known for her love of softball, she had fond memories of playing from her teenage years well into adulthood and enjoyed watching friends and family play whenever she could. Jane was a remarkable lady whose passion for her family, especially her granddaughter, was unequaled. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Jane is survived by her daughter, Dawn (Billy) McDanel, of Kevil; one brother, Jimmie (Sue) Thomason, of Bardwell; and one granddaughter, Larra McDanel.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Massey; her second husband of 31 years, Larry Quillen; four brothers, James Harold Thomason, Bobby Thomason, Ray Thomason, and R.L. Thomason; and her parents.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Arlington, with Bro. David Sphinx officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington City Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until the service time of 2:00 p.m. at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Arlington.
