
Billy Eugene Walker, 89, of Gilbertsville, formerly of Louisville, Kentucky, passed on May 21, 2025, at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah.
Born on May 4, 1936, in Hazard, KY, to his late parents, Bill Walker and Pearlie Maloney, Billy led a life marked by dedication and passion. He spent his earlier years as a coal miner before devoting most of his years to the Armour Star meat packing company, where he excelled as a maintenance man. Outside of his professional life, Billy was known for his deep love of dogs, his enjoyment of fishing, and his unwavering support for the UK Wildcats. He also had a sweet tooth, which brought joy to many a family gathering.
Billy is survived by his wife of 66 years, Freda Caudill Walker; son, Greg (Debra) Walker of Gilbertsville; three grandchildren, Misty Walker (Joshua) Duff, Billy Walker, Amanda Wilson; five great-grandchildren, Ethan Maples, Jacob Wilson, Logan Johnson, Lilly James, Bella James.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Anthony Walker along with several siblings.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at the Life Celebration Center of Filbeck-Cann, 1003 Poplar Street, Benton, KY 42025.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at the Life Celebration Center of Filbeck-Cann.
