Mr. Joe W. Mathis, age 87 of Hardin, Kentucky passed away on Monday, February 24, 2025, at Marshall Co. Hospital in Benton, Kentucky. He was a retired custodian for Murray State University.
Born Thursday, April 8, 1937 in Marshall County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Stokley Mathis and the late Mary Catherine (Burkeen) Mathis.
Surviving are son, Steve Mathis (Vicki),daughters, Heather E. Mathis, Jennifer Wilt, and grandchild, Haylee Wallace.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, David Mathis, brothers, Hugh Mathis, Charles Mathis, sisters, Ruby Elkins, Janet Jones, O’Dell Mathis and Fannie Mathis.
No public services are scheduled at this time.
