
Marshall County and Calloway County tipped off on Tuesday in a District Four clash in Murray. The Lady Marshals came into the game with a record of 12-3 while the Lady Lakers were riding an 11-game win streak with a record of 14-2.
Calloway County overcame an 11-point deficit at halftime to defeat the Lady Marshals 52-42 and earn an upper hand in district standings. The Lady Marshals will have a chance to even the score when the two teams meet again on February 7 at Marshall County.
The Lady Marshals trailed early but quickly tied the game at 6-6 on a lay in by Kenzlee Terry then took their first lead on a basket from Eden Sandlin. They went up by five before Calloway County grabbed an 11-10 lead on threes from Jaidan Koch and Sayler Lowe.
Sandlin drew a foul in the final two seconds and sank both free throws to put the Lady Marshals up 12-11.

Angie Emery scored to put Calloway back on top to open the second quarter but it was followed by a string of eight straight points by Terry, including two behind the arc, to lift the Lady Marshals and give them a 20-13 lead.
They finished out the half outscoring the Lady Lakers 6-2 to hold a 26-15 lead at halftime.
Calloway came out of the halftime break on a mission, led by Koch who scored eight of their first 10 points to cut the score to 29-25. The Lady Lakers went on to stretch out a 13-0 run that ended with a foul on Sandlin who made both free throws to maintain a 31-30 lead.
Following a basket by Lowe, Skylar Waller hit a buzzer beater three to put the Lady Marshals up 34-32 heading into the fourth quarter.
The Lady Marshals were up by four points at 39-35 midway through the fourth quarter but with 3:24 remaining, Lowe scored to put Calloway on top 42-41. The Lady Lakers went on to finish out the game on a 10-1 run, taking advantage of Marshall County turnovers and capping off the 10-point victory on a three-pointer from Lowe.
Koch finished with 24 points to lead Calloway County. Waller led the Lady Marshals with 14.
Marshall County will host Graves County on Friday. The Lady Eagles are 15-2 and have won their last 12 games.
