On 1/7/2025 at 5:46 pm, deputies with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office were contacted in reference an assault that had occurred on Benton Road in Reidland, KY. The victim had fled the residence and was waiting to meet a deputy at a Reidland business.
The victim told deputies that she had attempted to leave the residence several times after a verbal argument ensued. At one point, the suspect, identified as Phillip Williams, grabbed her, and struck her in the mouth with a closed fist. The victim stated after she was struck, Williams grabbed her purse and used the strap to choke her with, causing her airway to be restricted. The victim reported that Williams covered her mouth during the choking incident.
Deputies responded back to the residence on Benton Road and ultimately located Williams inside. He had damaged the victim’s property inside the residence.
Williams was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the McCracken County Jail.
