On Tuesday, December 3, 2024 The MCSO was contacted by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security – Internet Crimes Division. Our assistance was requested to help identify an individual who was believed to live in our area. Their investigation pertained to online child pornography.
Ironically, on the afternoon on December 3rd, the individual in question, identified as Nathanial S. Faugno (22) of Paducah, entered the McCracken County Courthouse and applied for a Court Security Officer position at the Sheriff’s Office. This allowed detectives to positively identify Faugno as the suspect in the online child pornography investigation.
Our investigation continued until this morning, where Faugno returned to the Sheriff’s Office under the guise of an employment interview. Faugno was taken into custody at this time while a search warrant of his residence was simultaneously executed. Numerous electronic devices were seized along with a small-scale marijuana grow.
Faugno was lodged at the McCracken County Regional Jail on one count of Possessing Matter Portraying Sexual Performance By a Minor Under 12.
This investigation is ongoing, and additional charges are likely. No additional information will be released at this time.
