
Marshall County and Massac County girl’s teams played the first game of the 2024 MRCOOL Marshall County Hoopfest on Wednesday. The Lady Marshals ran away from the Lady Patriots early in their 87-16 win.
Sophomore Kenzlee Terry led in scoring with 19 points including five 3-pointers to earn Game MVP honors.
Massac County’s Lydia McCraw scored the opening basket of the game but the first of five 3-pointers in the game from senior Skylar Waller followed and the Lady Marshals would go on to outscore the Lady Patriots 26-3 to take a 29-5 lead at the end of the first quarter. Terry scored 13 and Waller had 11 and the duo dropped in three 3-pointers each.

Junior Lauren Noles scored the first four points of the second quarter and led the way with 11 to help push the Lady Marshals lead to 52-7 at halftime.
Junior Addi Wall scored nine first half points and led with six in the third quarter to extend the lead to 67-9.
Terry and Waller dropped in threes to open the fourth quarter scoring but junior Rylee Teague had the hot streak from beyond the arc, hitting three straight of her four in the fourth and she finished with five for the game.
The Lady Marshals will play a varsity only game at Carlisle County on Friday at 6:00 and will be back at the Hoopfest for a 9:00 a.m. game on Saturday morning against Madisonville-North Hopkins.
