It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of a beloved daughter, mother, and partner, who left us on November 7, 2024. A free spirit at heart, she embraced life with joy and creativity, pouring her love into her many crafts and the memories she cherished with family and friends.

Despite her struggles with illness, she remained a beacon of strength and positivity, always making the most of every moment. Her laughter, kindness, and artistic spirit touched the lives of all who knew her.

Melissa leaves behind a legacy of love, creativity, and unforgettable memories. She will be deeply missed but forever held in our hearts.

Melissa Jean, age 49, of Benton, KY, died Thursday, November 7, 2024, at Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN. She was an organ donor where she will continue to help others. Melissa was the former owner of Polished where she worked as a nail tech.

She was the daughter of Gary Lampkins of Benton, KY and Pam Sutherland of Murray, KY. She is also survived by her grandmother Jean Sutherland of Benton, KY; fiancé Neil Williams of Benton, KY; one daughter: Kelsey English of Benton, KY; one brother: Nicholas Graves Lampkins of Columbus, OH; one sister: Ashlie Matlock and her husband Justin of Benton, KY; and niece and nephew Tristan and Jolene Matlock.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather: Donnie Sutherland; and her paternal grandparents: Graves and Jane Lampkins.

Arrangements are being handled by Collier Funeral Home, Benton, KY where the family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Saturday, November 16, 2024. There will be an opportunity for everybody to say a few words to celebrate Melissa’s life beginning at 5:00 pm on Saturday at Collier Funeral Chapel.
