The short answer is, “They were not adequately prepared.”
A key element of most failures is the lack of proper preparation. Consequently, a key element of Success is proper preparation.
Owning the right book, but not even opening it does not properly prepare the owner of the book. Hiring the right tutor does no one any good if s/he is not prepared to learn from the tutor. Attending the right class or lecture does no one any good if the brain is already full, distracted, or elsewhere.
It really comes down to one thing; was the student Focused on the lesson? Did the student understand how the lesson could and would be used to support the student’s goal? Does the student even have a worthwhile goal?
When you take a look at anyone who has been Successful at anything, you will see that the person knew how to Focus. That person understood that Success is not a destination, but that Success is a lifestyle.
