Christmas in the Park Non-Profit applications window opens

Benton, KY (August 1, 2024) The Marshall County Parks Department is now accepting applications from Marshall County based non-profit organizations to participate in the Christmas in the Park Light show for the 2024 season.

Each year, several non-profits are selected to collect monetary and canned good donations from visitors to the light show.

To be considered for selection, the following criteria must be met:

  • Must be a registered nonprofit organization and submit documentation such as IRS Letter of Determination

  • Be a Marshall County based nonprofit that provides a service to the community

  • Must not charge fees for participation or to receive services or be fee based in any way

  • Athletic teams, booster clubs, and other like organizations are not eligible to apply

  • Churches/youth groups are not eligible to apply

  • In the event that multiple organizations serving the same population or providing the same type of service apply, only one organization may be accepted

  • No political organizations

  • Must provide a statement explaining specifically what donated funds will be used for

The 2023 light show raised over $27,000 for area non-profit organizations in addition to the thousands of canned good items collected. Interested organizations may request an application by emailing parks@marshallcountyky.gov or in person at the Visitors Center Mon-Fri 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM. The deadline for applications is September 6, 2024 at 4:30 PM.
