Beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend Sue Gill passed away July 27, 2024.
She leaves behind a legacy of unmatched love, compassion, candor, and laughter. She was an avid reader and writer with various hobbies and passions. Sue was an active member of Massac Methodist church in Paducah. She loved to play bridge in her free time. Sue had a unique personality that made everyone fall in love with her. Her life centered around sharing food with others from working at her daughter’s cake shop, volunteering for community kitchens, to preparing traditional southern meals with her beloved family.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Anna Leidecker; one brother, John Anthony Leidecker; and treasured daughter, Beth Gill Sturm.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Robert Gill; her children, Penny (Randy) Wood and Rob (Robin) Gill; brothers, Tom (Vickie) Leidecker and Tim (Jared) Sommers; grandchildren, Kirsten (Brittany) Bynum, Autumn (Gregory Esslinger) Sturm, Bailey (Logan Forsythe) Wood, Josie (Mitchell Phillips) Raby, and John Wood; and eight precious great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Lindsey Funeral Home.
A funeral service for Sue will be held Friday, August 2, 2024 at 11:00 am at Lindsey Funeral Home with Rev. John Smithmier officiating with cremation to follow. Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to Massac Methodist Church (2065 Mayfield Metropolis Rd, Paducah, KY 42001).
