Calvert City Pickleball players went to Fenton, Mo. to participate in the MPC St. Louis Summer Sizzle State Championships July 24-28, 2024. MPC is one of the largest indoor facilities in the US and features 18 courts. A Gold Medalist from a United Pickleball State Championship (UPSC) automatically secures invitations to the year-end UPA World Championships in Dallas TX, November 4-9, 2024, and registration fees will be waived.
With 258 players over four days, players competed in Men’s and Women’s singles, Men’s and Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles. Skill levels 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5 and 5.0 players age groups 18U, 19+, 35+, 50+, 60+, and 70+.
There were 20 teams in 3.5 Mixed Doubles and Kenzie Wilson and Landon Wilson played 17 games during their eight matches to win Silver. There were 18 teams in 4.5 Mixed Doubles and Brent Thompson and Jennifer Wilson played 12 games during their five matches to win Bronze. All our players that went to MPC brought home hardware.
