
Sebastian Blanco, age 91, of Paducah, Kentucky, formerly of Chicago, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center. Born on July 4, 1933, in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico, Sebastian carried the warmth of his hometown throughout his life.
Sebastian dedicated 30 plus years of service as a skilled technician at Photo Scope, where his professionalism and expertise were greatly valued. Upon retirement, he devoted more time to his lifelong passions and beliefs. A faithful member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, he embodied the values of compassion and community.
Known for his love of sports, Sebastian was an avid fan of Chicago teams, sharing in the thrills of victories and the camaraderie of fellow supporters. He loved the game of dominoes and was very competitive. His enthusiasm for the games was infectious, bringing joy and excitement to all who knew him.
Sebastian’s legacy of warmth, dedication, and sportsmanship will be fondly remembered and deeply missed.
Mr. Blanco is survived by his wife of 67 years, Juanita Pagan Blanco; his daughter, Minerva Neihoff (Thomas) of Paducah; his son, Roberto Blanco (Wendy) of Arizona; his grandhildren, Roberto Blanco (Marcie), Justin Blanco (Katie), Meagan Riffe (Alex), Andrew Neihoff (Alisyn), and Tyler Neihoff; his great grandchildren, Colton Riffe, Kadence Riffe, Kendall Riffe, Sebastian Blanco, and Bishop Blanco.
Mr. Blanco was preceded in death by his parents, Ramon and Carmen Marcano Blanco; his sisters, Carmen Aponte and Milagrito Kowalczyk; his brothers, Juan Blanco, Ramon Blanco, Rosario Blanco, and Jose Antonio Blanco.
A memorial funeral mass is scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Satuday, July, 27, 2024 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church with Fr. Gary Clark officiating. Urn interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
A memorial visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 27, 2024 at the church.
