PADUCAH, Ky. (July 20, 2024)   Ceredo Road in Ballard County is closed near the Hinkleville community due to a washout at a bridge.

Ceredo Road is closed to all traffic 7/10ths of a mile east of Hinkleville due to a washout that damaged the roadway at the Humphrey Creek Bridge.  This closure is along Ceredo Road, about halfway between the KY 358 (Hinkleville Road) intersection and Yates Lane.

The Ballard County Road Department has barricaded the roadway and started immediate efforts to repair the washout.  The crew anticipates being able to drive sheet piling along the washout today and then backfill behind the piling on Sunday.

Engineers are optimistic they can reopen the roadway within a couple of days.

KYTC District 1 and the Ballard County Road Department will attempt to provide timely notice when the repairs are completed.

A map of the closure location is attached below.
