Traffic Stop Leads to Felony Drug Arrest

On 2/13/2024, at 9:47 pm,  Deputy Jeff Hartman was on routine patrol when he observed a Pontiac Bonneville with traffic violations.  A traffic stop was conducted in the area of US60.  Nancey Ali, 45 years old of Paducah, KY, was operating the vehicle.

Due to prior knowledge of Ali’s history, Deputy Hartman asked for Deputy Latta and K-9 Bobi to respond.  K-9 Bobi was deployed and conducted a free air sniff, in which he indicated to be illegal narcotics inside the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle revealed a syringe with a liquid substance inside.  The substance tested positive for methamphetamine.

Ali was taken into custody and charged with the following –

1. Careless Driving
2. Windows not Safety Glass
3. License to be in Possession
4. Poss controlled substance 1^st deg, 1^st offense (methamphetamine)
5. Drug Paraphernalia – Buy/Possess
6. Failure to Produce Insurance Card
