
Alice Jane Lynn Roof, 82, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at Mercy Health Lourdes.
Alice was born in Paducah on March 3, 1941 to the late Arlie ‘Doc’ and Evelyn ‘Irene’ Nace Lynn. She was a member of St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church where she was also a part of the choir. Alice and her husband Paul ran the St. John’s Country Store at the St. John’s Picnic for over twenty plus years. She was also in charge of the blood drives and fish fries for St. John’s Knights of Columbus. Alice was passionate about travel and in her life had visited all state capitals within the continental United States. When she wasn’t traveling or working with St. John’s Knights of Columbus, she was delivering meals to the homebound.
Alice is survived by her spouse of fifty-two years, Paul Roof of Paducah; two sons, Jason (Christine) Roof of Valparaiso, Indiana, Greg (Christy) Roof of Paducah; one brother Louis (Sandra) Lynn of West Paducah; sister-in-law, Zannie Lynn of Paducah; and six grandchildren, Ashley Roof, Petty Officer Second Class Jacob Roof, Seaman Recruit Joshua Roof, Seaman Zachary Roof, Lexi Roof, and Rex Roof; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Beverly Kay Lynn; and five brothers, Freddie Lynn, Frankie Lynn, James Avery Lynn, Royce Ray Lynn, and Randall Lynn.
Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church with Rev. Frank Roof officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Catholic Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, December 22, 2023 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner and Orr Funeral Homes. Prayers will be said at 4:30 pm.
