Marshall County’s cross country team recently competed in their final two meets of the season and are now preparing for the Region 1 Class 3A meet on Saturday, Oct. 21 in Owensboro at Yellow Creek Park.
On October 7, the team ran in the Daviess County Classic which featured some of the best runners in the state. Among a field of 35 teams, the Marshals finished 11th and host Daviess County took first. The Lady Marshals finished 10th in the field of 23 teams and Daviess County completed the sweep by taking first.
Kobey Yates crossed the line in 18th place for the best finish for the Marshals in a field of 338 runners. Yates finished with a 5k time of 16:47.52. Brendan Nagle of John Hardin took first in 15:36.36.

Addison Lyles placed eighth in a field of 200 for the Lady Marshals. Lyles finished with a time of 19:33.65. Morgan Kobylinski from Ohio County took the win with a time of 18:16.82.
