Paul Owen Ertle ll, age 54, of Paducah, Kentucky passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at his home.
Paul was born in Massillon, Ohio, on April 30, 1969, to Paul Owen, and the late, Patricia Ann Keller Ertle. Paul worked as an Environmental Health and Safety Radiation Control Technician for BWCS. He retired as Master Sergeant from the United States Army after 23 years of active duty service. While serving in the Army, MSG Ertle held numerous leadership positions, was an instructor for multiple Non Commissioned Officers courses, was awarded numerous commendations, and was a Desert Storm Veteran. In his free time, Paul loved playing video games, enjoyed trucks, and firearms. He was a huge Marvel movie fan, a passion he passed onto his daughter, Kelsey. He and his youngest daughter, Kayla, shared a love for softball. Paul loved snuggles with his grandson, Jonah, and watching him learn new things. Paul was loved dearly by family and friends, and will be greatly missed.
Paul is survived by his wife of 29 years, Michelle Hensley Ertle; his father, Paul Owen Ertle (Donnie); two daughters, Kelsey Ertle of Paducah, and Kayla Barnett (Sam) of Bowling Green, Kentucky; sister, Ashley Dunbar (Darrell) of Port Clinton, Ohio; brother, Patrick Ertle (April) of Port Clinton, Ohio; grandson, Jonah Paul Ertle; and his mother-in-law, Brenda Hensley of Hopkinsville, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews; and numerous Army comrades and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother; his grandparents, Charles and Viola Ertle; a sister, Pamela Borowski; and his father-in-law, Gene Hensley.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 28, 2023 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Jeffery Hensley officiating. Military Honors will be rendered following the service. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the service time of 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 28, 2023 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
