Judy Bufford, 80, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Southgate Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Metropolis, Illinois.

Mrs. Bufford was born on September 23, 1942 in Highland Park, Michigan to the late Jimmie and Eleanor Winquist Younker.  She was retired as Office Manager for the Hendron Water District.  Judy was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church where she was a Sacristan and a Eucharistic Minister for many years.  She was a member of the Pastoral Council, Liturgy Committee, RCIA team and the Art and Environment Committee.  Judy was also a 2013 recipient of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Owensboro Sophia Award for her distinguished service.

Judy is survived by her two sons, Billy Bufford of Benton, Kentucky and John Bufford (Wendy) of Paducah; five grandchildren, Hannah Bufford of Benton, Paul Bufford (Lauren) of Kemah, Texas, Jordan Bufford of Paducah, Blake Turner of Dallas, Texas and Jared Turner of Paducah; two great-grandchildren, Coraline and Kace; a sister, Zelta Counts of Paducah; a sister-in-law, Betsy Younker of Louisville, Kentucky and a brother-in-law, Bobby Bufford of Meriden, Kansas; the most wonderful nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, extended family and the greatest friends anyone could ever ask for.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Bufford Jr.; a brother, Ralph Younker.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Christopher Kight officiating.  Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the service hour of 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
