Robin Phelps, age 66, of Bardwell, passed away on August 19, 2023, at Baptist Health Paducah.

Robin was born in Paducah on June 21, 1957, to the late Charles and Bernice Simmons Phelps. He was of the Baptist faith and was an active volunteer with the Purchase Area Walk to Emmaus community. Robin worked for over 40 years as a Lineman and most recently as a Manager with the City of Bardwell Utilities. He cared deeply for the city of Bardwell and was always willing to help those in the community that were in need. Robin never met a stranger in his life and people always gravitated to his “Phelps Charm” as he liked to call it. His girls and grandchildren were the highlight of his life, and he would do anything for them. Anyone who knew Robin knew that he had a deep passion for music. He played drums in many area bands, including Wolfman And The Pack and, most recently, with the Sullivan 3.  Robin also assisted many local organizations and community events by setting up and running audio for music competitions and programs. When he wasn’t working or playing music, Robin enjoyed riding one of his beloved Harley Davidson’s. He often went on road trips to Florida and Sturgis, South Dakota. Robin also had a deep love for trains that stemmed from his father and grandfather working as Engineers and Conductors of the Railroad.

Robin is survived by his wife, Jennifer Kirk Phelps of Bardwell; two daughters, Charla (Josh) West of Arlington and Sydney Phelps (Spencer Patterson) of Paducah; a sister, Sheila Phelps of Bardwell; three brothers, John (Terri) Thompson of Benton, Gary Thompson of Mayfield and Bruce Phelps of Ledbetter; two grandchildren, Cole west and Caleb West; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Phelps, and his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell with Garrett Hunt officiating. Burial will follow at Burkley Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the service time of 1:00 pm on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231.
