Calvert City, KY (August 2, 2023) – Calvert City Police are asking the public to help locate a hit-and-run driver responsible for killing an 18-year-old woman on Tuesday, August 1 around 5:39 a.m. while walking to work. A $30,000 reward, not associated with the Calvert City police department, has been offered to anyone with information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual.

Tuesday night, the Dairy Queen Grill & Chill Restaurant in Calvert City announced it is offering a $10,000 reward. This act of kindness stemmed other local business owners to pledge funds to the reward.

On Wednesday morning, Dr. Bert Johnson, Calvert City resident, announced he would pledge $10,000 to the reward. Nearly an hour later, Keith Murt, president of Paducah based business, Murtco Mechanical Contractor, pledged another $10,000.

The reward pledged is not organized or awarded by the Calvert City Police Department or the City of Calvert City. Rewards are awarded by individual pledges. 

The investigation is ongoing with the assistance of the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office and the Marshall County Coroner’s Office. Anyone with information pertaining to this investigation is encouraged to contact the Calvert City Police Department (270) 395-4545.
